RECENT EVENTS!

1. Bull/Oyster Roast, Dance and Casino Night

The weather out side was not great, but the good times inside Michael's Eighth Avenue had the Glen Burnie area rocking.  We are sorry for those who had to miss this great event.  We enjoyed excellent food, good music, and fun times at the game tables.  Most of all, it is the members and guests of MAE getting together for fun and an opportunity to contribute to the Scholarship Fund and other charities that your dues and participation in events supports.  We are busy scanning the pictures for publishing in the "Event Photographs" pages in the near future.  If you have pictures to share, contact the Executive Secretary at rmevans@mtmail.biz, or call me at 410-662-7400.  Thanks to all for your support.

2. Summer Convention

The Summer Convention was very successful.  Thanks to the good luck that is following President Duerling the weather cooperated and the evening events were enjoyed by all that attended.  Thanks to Don Krempel, the golf outing was well attended and great scores were achieved by most (not all) players.

We also thank Frank Waesche for his efforts in assuring a fine Technical Session "Design Build, an Overview".  There may be some of the handouts available if you missed picking one up at the presentation.

Please visit our 'Event Photographs' Section for newly uploaded photographs from the 2008 Summer Convention!!!  We have also added a few new pictures from the 2007 Summer Golf event at Ocean City.

If you have trouble opening any of the pictures, please call Dick Evans at 410-662-7400 or email at rmevans@mtmail.biz.

Watch this new section for more photographs as they become available.  Contact us if you have pictures to share.

3.  SPRING GOLF

The Annual Spring Golf Outing was a great success, assuring a good term for president Keith Duerling.  The weather held off long enough for everyone to complete the course and enjoy the excellent food at the Hunt Valley Golf Club.  Special thanks to Don Krempel, Charlie Watkins and all who pitched in to make things go smoothly.  Also special thanks to the hole sponsors and all who participated.

Prizes for contest winners were awarded at the conclusion of the evening dinner as follows:

4.  WINTER CONVENTION

The 2008 Winter Convention is now History,  Welcome to our new president Keith Duerling, and thanks to past President  Charlie Watkins for a successful year.  The new Board of Directors positions are listed on the HOME Page.

The morning session was opened by President Charlie Watkins followed by a very interesting welcoming address by Baltimore County Executive James T. Smith, Jr.   The rest of the morning included 4 informative presentations and there was an afternoon field trip to the Sparrows Point Steel Plant.

Special thanks to John D. Porcari, MD Secretary of Transportation for attending and for his informative presentation at the evening banquet.  Thanks to our Master of Ceremonies Sam Carnaggio for another great job of conducting the evening event and the good humor manner of introducing the Board Members.

We also welcome two new members of the Board, Jeffrey Bird from Murphy, Bird, Phillips, Inc. and Phil Peters from P. Flanigan and Sons, Inc.

Watch this website for more information about the event.  Everyone seemed to enjoy the new format and we have received much positive feedback about the food.  Please feel free to email or call me with comments (good or bad) so that we can continue to offer informative and enjoyable events.
